Scabiosa, also known as Pincushion Flower, is a versatile cut flower. With its spiky ball center and strong wiry stems, it can be used fresh or dried. At Crawford Road we have fallen in love with these unfortunately named little flowers. They are so delicate and feminine looking with the perfect amount of whimsy. Ours have grown as a perennial even through thick frosts though they are technically classed as annuals. The starflower variety is primarily grown for its decorative seed head.
