A ruffled spectacle of colour, the Peony Poppy Mixture bursts into bloom with large, fully double flowers in shades of pink, red, white, and deep plum. Each petal-packed bloom has the lush form of a peony, fluttering on tall, slender stems above silvery-green foliage. A true statement in the garden and a striking addition to fresh or dried bouquets, this mix is easy to grow and self-seeds generously.
Best for: Bold borders, textural garden interest, dried seed heads, romantic arrangements.
Approx 100 seeds per packet
Growing Information
| Season | Blooms from early spring to midsummer. |
| Type | Focal Co-Star |
| Blooms | Cut and come again |
| Edible | No |
| Plant Spacing | Space 20–25cm apart for airflow and best display. |
| Days to Germination | 7-12 days |
| Days to Maturity | 85-100 days |
| Sowing Tips | Direct sow in autumn or very early spring, poppies dislike transplanting. Sow very thinly and cover lightly, they need light to germinate. Keep soil moist during germination, but avoid overwatering. |
| Growing Tips | Grow in full sun with free-draining soil. Do not fertilise heavily, too much nitrogen will reduce flowering. Harvest when buds are just cracking for fresh use, or let seed heads mature for drying. Allow some pods to mature and self-seed for next season’s bloom. |
